Astronomy Club

Club Description: The mission of the North Paulding Astronomy Club is to provide a safe environment and resources for students at North Paulding High School to explore and develop their interests in astronomy. Students, through monthly meetings and observing opportunities, will explore their interests in astronomy and participate in observing programs sponsored by the Astronomical League.

Beta Club

Club Description: Beta is an academic honors program with a strong emphasis on community service. Its purpose is "to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service among elementary and secondary school students." Students will be invited to join the club in their sophomore year based on their GPA.

Book Club

Club Description: Are you excited about books?  The NPHS Book Club gives you the opportunity to interact with students of similar interests, share ideas about the books you read, and make new friends.  The club meets once a month to discuss books.  Annual dues are $30 to cover club expenses and T-shirts.   Instagram:  Nphs_bookclub

Chess Club

Club Description: The Chess Club is open to all students who are interested.  It offers a way to learn and practice the game of chess.  Chess helps students develop better critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, before school.

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy

Club Description: Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is a national high school leader program that is focused on impact through action. The students collaborate with their peers to develop their leadership skills and then put them into action by creating and implementing an impact project that will help our community. Students must apply before participating by clicking here and filling out the online application.

Computer Science Honor Society

DECA

Distributive Education Clubs of America

Club Description: DECA is a co-curricular organization for students who have a career interest in marketing, finance, hospitality and tourism, entrepreneurship, management, or business administration. DECA allows students to compete and learn about marketing skills needed to be successful in today’s business world.

EcoWolves Club

Club Description: The EcoWolves are an environmental appreciation club centered on preserving and serving the natural habitat of our community. The club's main objective is to foster a school-wide appreciation for nature and emphasize the importance of sustaining and serving our community.

FBLA

Future Business Leaders of America

Club Description: Georgia FBLA is a nonprofit student organization committed to preparing today's students for success in business leadership. With over 50 years of experience, Georgia FBLA is the premiere organization for student leaders. Georgia FBLA is an affiliate of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc., the largest student business organization in the world with more than 250,000 members. Georgia is also the largest FBLA chapter in the nation with over 20,000 members.

FCA

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Club Description: We are a student led Christian faith-based club.  Our goal is to minister into the lives and meet the needs of athletes, coaches and anyone who enjoys athletics. We will continue to meet on a regular weekly basis.  We will do service projects to help feed teachers and athletic teams.  We will also look for ways to serve our community.

FCCLA

Family Career Community Leaders of America

Club Description: To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family members, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

FFA

Future Farmers of America

Club Description: Founded in 1928, the former "Future Farmers of America" brought together students, teachers and agribusiness to solidify support for agricultural education. The organization's name was changed to the National FFA Organization in 1988 to reflect the growing diversity of agriculture. Today, more than 650,000 student members are engaged in a wide range of agricultural education activities. Opportunities for competition in FFA range from Landscape Horticulture to Animal Science and Mechanical Related Career Development Events or CDE’s. There are also many opportunities in Leadership CDE’s such as Prepared Public Speaking, Parliamentary Procedure, and Proficiency Applications related to your area of interest in Agriculture. Last year National FFA gave out over $2.5 million in scholarship monies to FFA members pursuing various endeavors above the high school level, many of which outside of the Agricultural Field.

Fly Fishing and Cold-Water Conservation Club

Club Description: The mission of the NPHS Fly Fishing and Cold-Water Conservation Club is to teach students the art of fly fishing while at the same time, developing an understanding of cold-water ecosystems and conservation methods to help maintain their aquatic health. The club has equipment such as waders, fly rods & reels, and lures for students to use on their fishing trips. Students are taught how to cast a fly rod, tie fly’s, properly land fish, tie knots, and more. The club has an official fishing trip every month beginning in November. The club is financially supported by the Cohutta Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Georgia Council of Trout Unlimited.

Guitar Club

Club Description: The purpose of the Guitar club at NPHS is to give interested students an opportunity to perform guitar outside of school. Students who have completed the Introduction to Guitar class are automatically eligible to join. Students who have prior experience must audition with Mr. Abdich and our student sponsors. The club's purpose is to play for local community events, as well as State level guitar festivals/competitions.

HOPE

Hispanic Organization Promoting Education

Club Description: HoPe is a nonprofit organization with one of a kind, interactive extracurricular programming that provides a powerful community for students to feel connected, grow and maximize their potential. We provide students with leadership development training, educational coaching and resources, plus community service opportunities.

HOSA

Health Occupations Students of America

Club Description: Health Science Technology Education (HSTE) is a national student organization that provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, post-secondary, collegiate, and adult students enrolled in health occupations education courses or instructional programs. HOSA's purpose is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students.

International Thespian Society

Club Description: The International Thespian Society refers to the world's largest honor society for theatre students. The designation "Thespian" includes student members who excel in technical production fields as well as perform in their high school theatre. Students are inducted into the Society after meeting the goal of 10 Thespian points equaling 100 hours of work in high school theatre. Additional stars are awarded in increments of 60. Honor Thespians are recognized when a student maintains a 3.0 or higher, grade point average.

Investment Club

Club Description: The new investment club at NPHS will be open to anyone. It will be a club based on learning the importance of investments, how they work, and how anyone can start setting themselves up for the future. Currently 25% of Americans over 50 state they believe they will never be able to retire, let's learn the skills needed to change that number.

We will meet twice a month on Wednesdays before school. We will learn the basics of investing such as:

·          Types of investments accounts

·          How compound interest works

·          The perils of investing unwisely

·          And why starting young matters.

We will also set up a stock market game for our club.

JROTC Army

Club Description: The NPHS Army JROTC program mission is "To motivate young people to be better citizens." As a character and leadership development program, Army JROTC provides cadets with the benefit of being exposed to a disciplined learning environment where focus, followership, leadership, and goal setting are not only expected, but realized by each cadet. Cadets begin to understand their true full potential and are actively supported by the instructors in achieving their set goals. We offer the following teams: Leadership & Academic Bowl Teams, Color Guard, Drill Team, and Raider Challenge Team.

Mock Trial Club

Club Description: Coached by volunteer attorneys and teachers, teams work together to prepare trial presentations from case materials created by the Problem Subcommittee of the High School Mock Trial Committee. In the competition, students undertake the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a court case. Professional attorneys and judges serve as the presiding judges and juror/evaluators in competition rounds. Teams are evaluated on their ability to make a logical, cohesive, and persuasive presentation, rather than on the legal merits of the case.  Adding to the authenticity of the competition, teams compete in actual courtrooms across the state beginning with the regional competitions.

Multi-cultural Association

Club Description: The Multi-cultural Association is an all-inclusive club where you can learn about different backgrounds and heritages while simultaneously giving back to the community, making new friends, watching eye-opening documentaries, and potentially going on field trips to a variety of museums.

National Art Honor Society

Club Description: National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program specifically for high school students, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art.

National Honor Society

Club Description: The National Honor Society (NHS) is a recognition program for high school students in 12th grade in the United States and in several other countries. NHS honors students who have shown excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

National Math Honor Society

Club Description: The purpose of the National Math Honors Society is to promote scholarships in mathematics and service to the community.  The NPHS NMHS is a chapter of Mu Alpha Theta.  The National High School and Junior College Mathematics Club, Mu Alpha Theta, was formed in 1957 to engender keener interest in mathematics, to develop sound scholarship in the subject of mathematics, to develop sound scholarship in the subject and promote enjoyment of mathematics among high school and two-year college students.

National Spanish Honor Society

Club Description: This honor society is an invitation only group.  Being a member is a privilege given only to those members who have shown their dedication to the Spanish language through academic excellence and pursuit of extra opportunities to use the language. Students in levels 4, 5, and AP with at least an overall GPA of 3.0 and a grade of 85% or better are invited to induction. The group will meet 1/2x a month to share interest in the Spanish language and to perform public service. This honor society offers an advanced level of activities and companionship to those who enjoy the language and culture.  It is an affiliate with the national organization and its members may participate in the national convention, trips, scholarship opportunities and scholarly publications.  Seniors should include membership in the Spanish NHS on their college applications and will be given the opportunity to wear Honor Cords during NPHS Graduation Ceremonies.

Robotics Club

 Club Description: The purpose of the ROV club is to encourage and promote the field of science and engineering through the practical and fun application of engineering principles.   Students work together in teams to design and build robots.  Our teams compete in both MATE ROV underwater robotics competitions and First Tech Challenge robotics competitions.

SKILLS USA

Club Description: SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It helps each student excel. SkillsUSA serves teachers and high school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. More than 300,000 students and instructors join SkillsUSA annually, organized into more than 17,000 sections and 54 state and territorial associations.

Club Description: We are a group of diverse students and adults from many different corners and cultures of our school and community. We believe that life has ups and downs, that all of us will go through good times and tough times. Our mission is to ensure that during the rough times no one gets so overwhelmed or hopeless that they want to give up. Our mission is to spread hope, help, and strength into every corner of our school.

Speech and Debate Club

Club Description: Speech and Debate is a competitive academic team in which students develop their critical thinking and public speaking skills by participating in structured debates during team meetings and in tournaments. Students will expand their knowledge, challenge their views, and teach others through a variety of speech and debate styles.

Student Government Association

Club Description: The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage and foster strong relationships between the student body, faculty, administration, and community, to improve student participation, increase school spirit and pride, provide orderly planning and execution of school events, provide a forum for student expression, and promote the welfare of all members of the North Paulding schools and community.  We strongly believe that the Student Government Association (SGA) of North Paulding High School is an educational instrument designed to provide learning experiences in leadership and opportunities for practicing world class and first-class qualities.

Tabletop Role Playing Game Club

Club Description: This club is open to students who have an interest in Tabletop Role Playing Games, specifically Dungeons and Dragons. This club will meet twice a month before or after school.  This club will help students to learn about social engagement, teamwork, and positive collaboration.

Tri-M Music Honor Society

Club Description: A Tri-M® Music Honor Society chapter offers students, grades 6 through 12, the chance to perform, places them in leadership positions, and gives them the opportunity to serve the community. It highlights the school’s music program, helps students grow in innumerable ways, and brightens their college applications.

Wolfpack Productions

Club Description: Wolfpack Productions is aimed at shaping the next generation of storytellers by empowering their voices through film and multimedia projects as well as connecting students who have common interests. Whether it is producing livestreams of our athletic events or watching films together to critique or creating short films to submit to contest, Wolfpack Productions is an opportunity for students to work together for a common goal and understand the collaborative process of production. You do NOT have to be a current or former student in the AVTF program to participate, just attend our twice monthly meetings to get plugged in.
